How to increase traffic to a blog?

I want my blog to have more traffic! Increasing traffic to a blog is actually an achievable feat to any blogger. Any sane blogger want to have a high traffic of readers coming to his blog. That is the ultimate goal of all bloggers.

Without traffic, a blog may die sooner rather than later. The effort to develop a high traffic blog normally tale a lot of time, effort and determination. As they always say, "Rome is not built in one day". That rules apply to blog world too. So how to get more traffic?

Increasing traffic to your blog is so very important for blogger, any blogger, small or big, pro or amateur. Traffic for blog is like blood for human. No blood means no life. High traffic means lot of activity and chances to do business (whatever the business, such as affiliate or MLM or insurance or advertising or anything at all).

First thing first. Do I have the authority to speak about this topic? Do you know how much visitors this blog you are reading now get? Well, I could proudly say that this blog get 15000 visitors per month. Not a very great figure but with that much I could make at least 1 US dollar per day without any sweat. And hey, I am just an amateur blogger. I still have a day job to attend. So do I got some authority to speak about how to get traffic to blog? Maybe yes maybe not, but I will try my best.

First rule to get high traffic - You must land on the first page of Google. Do whatever you have in your capacity to get on the first page of Google search.

How to get first page landing on Google? Write good quality content and submit it to Google.

Google ranks blog according to variety of factors. One of it is reputation. How they measures blog reputation? By checking how much back link that blog have. What is back link? Back link is when somebody else put your blog link in their blog such as link under my favourites, or blogs I like, blogs I read or best blogs. That mean they trust you and they want to share something good. If your blog is in their list, that means you are good. That is reputation!

How to get good reputation? Write content good enough that people really want to read. People search something to read content that is close to them, something related to them. Some problem they are facing perhaps. The want some answer or clue about something. So write about it. Don't wrote about your cat, who want to read about your cat? Write something global and timeless. Something people all over the world from all ages would search again and again.

Create buzz. Put facebook like button and tweet button. Make connection with people. You need to be honest, show who you really are. A picture or some identity that people could relate to. Build credibility. Improve over time, use edit button to make your posting as perfect as possible. Use word press (top bloggers use it). Buy your own domain name and a dedicated hosting. Put Facebook like button, tweet button and so on. Make you tube video and provide links. Join forum. Post comments on top blogs. Show and expose yourself. Befriends top bloggers and be a responsible blogger yourself. All those thing take time, really. And it is not easy too.

There's one more thing you must have. Work hard. Then work hard. And then work hard. Work hard to create content. Content means something of value to Internet surfers. They want information. The latest news and the latest trend. Do research. Create valuable facts.

But then again, you also must work smart. Other than work hard, you must have some basic knowledge. You must know a little bit about html, about link, and perhaps about SEO. Search Engine Optimization.
