Exora vs Toyota Wish.
Before Exora comes, there is Toyota Wish that is ever popular MPV. I love to have a Toyota Wish. But chedet, in his capacity as proton's advisor said Malaysia should buy Proton Exora. Exora is smart and highly qulified as MPV for a big, happy family. Exora also is really good because it will amaze you. Wow, what an amazing MPV. I am really amazed. Do you?
In term of design, Exora is not a disappointment. The space is also quite ample for a mid sized family. What is left to be improved is in the engine department. The durability and the reliability of the chassis is also left to be proven. At a glance we could see that Toyota Wish is stronger. But Wish is still expensive.
So with a price tag of 75 thousand, Exora is rather a good bargain. Still, Exora faces stiff competition from Toyota Avaza ( around RM 65 k) and even Perodua Alza (around RM 60 k).

Proton is a rather good company. But it has been struggling in recent time. Reports told that Proton has suffered a net loss of 88.2 million for it's third quarter ended Dec 31, 2011.
Proton need a transformation. All Malaysians knew Proton in some ways or another. If not for economic reasons, Malaysians would rather buy Honda or Toyota. It's all about perception. Proton need to work hard to change this perception so that it can stand and sit on par with Honda or Toyota.
Proton is now over 50% controlled by DRB-Hicom, a unit owned by billionaire Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhari that bought stake of 42.7% in Proton for RM 5.50 a share on March 2012. He intends to make Proton private as a part of wider plan to help restructure the ailing car maker company.
Can Syed Mokhtar makes it? We will wait and see.
