How to be a good writer
Do you wish to be a good blog writer? Do you want to be a popular blog writer? Perhaps as popular as Steve Pavlina.
Let me answer that question. For me, yes I wish that I am a good writer and also a popular one. It can be achieved but it is not that simple. I tried to write for a long time but still, my blog is a mediocre one.
Still, I want to try my best. So, I got some tips here. Start slowly but surely. Be a good reader, be positive and be creative. You don't have to be Agatha Christie or Dan Brown. Just be yourself. From my observation a good writer is also a keen reader. He observed and then he wrote as honest as possible.
Take me myself as an example. A lot of my posting is a reflection of my reading. I wrote as beautiful as possible. I try to be honest and I try to entertain you. The truth is all that I said is a difficult stuff. That's why it is hard to find a good writer. Today with Facebook as the happening place on internet where people come, many blog writers stop writing altogether.
I am spurred to keep on writing though because I could see my idol don't stop writing. He keeps up writing in his blog. Who are your idol in writing industry? I have many. I tried to emulate them. Be open to ideas. Observe the world around you. See what is happening.
The current hot topic for now is World cup in Brasil. It will come in a short time. This will be an interesting thing to write and follow. You can write about it.
Maybe you could write about Ronaldo of Portugal. No matter what happen to Portugal, Ronaldo will still be idolized by many all around the world. That is not because of his football skill, but because of his hair style. I will follow this world cup but not as eager as before. I lost interest in it as I grew older and wiser.
That is my five paragraph of a good article for now. Bad English and lots of grammar mistakes. Please criticize me. Please fire me! This is an advice from Helen Thomas, a former White House journalist. She said "I say to young people who ask me about journalism: If you want to be loved, don't go into this business."
Got it?
